Le thème de la chanson est assez particulier, puisqu’elle parle d’un artiste qui passe sa vie en prison ou il a été enfermé pour pédophilie… C’est pas nous qui le disons, mais Thom qui a déclaré dans Curfew en novembre 1991 :

Le peintre dont parle Thom est aussi celui qui l’a inspiré pour l’art informatique qu’il créait à l’université d’Exeter.

Il s’agit également pour Thom d’une chanson sur l’isolement, qui fait que, quand il devient trop profond, l’on ait absolument plus aucun ami , ni personne à qui parler.
