[quote cite=”Ed O’Brien / FM 94/9, 11 janvier 2008″]Well, Nude, which is the third track on the record (N.D.L.R : in rainbows) , we played that — in fact, we recorded that, we did a version of that when we were recording OK Computer. And, you know, we did a kind of a nice version of it, but it wasn’t right. And we even played it on that tour — on the OK Computer tour we played it live. But it had a different arrangement and it had a different feel. You know, it’s funny with a song like that, because songs have their times. They have their moments. I always think that like, really great songs, as well, they have their times of the day. There can be a great song, but it might only really make sense at five o’clock in the morning, or the great song, the Damned – New Rose, it doesn’t make sense necessarily at seven in the morning, but seven in the evening, before you go out, boy, it really does its job. So it’s kind of the same way when you’re recording songs, that you can’t really force things too much. If they don’t feel right — you know that something’s good — but if you can’t feel it, and you can’t put everything into it, then you just have to wait. And you just have to let it gestate and lie there a bit and then you can come back to it in a couple of years or so.

[quote ]nude* it is a mans world. and this one is very confused and will have sex with anything woman who comes within a mile radius. but feels bad about it. so doesnt.[/quote]

[quote cite=”Ed O’Brien / 7 juillet 2008″]When we recorded ‘Nude’. We went to Chipping Norton studios. I think it was April ’96. I think that’s when we first did it. Yeah, we first did it. But it was a different session…

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 23 janvier 1998 [/button]

[quote ]don’t get any big ideas
they’re not gonna happen

you paint your house white and fill it with noise
but there’ll be something missing

and now that you’ve found it, it’s gone
and now that you feel it, you don’t
you’ve gone off the rails

she stands stark naked and she beckons you to bed
don’t go, you’ll only want to come back again

so don’t get any big ideas
they’re not gonna happen

you’ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking

and now that you’ve found it, it’s gone
and now that you feel it, you don’t
you’ve gone off the rails[/quote]
[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] avril 1998 [/button]

[quote ]don’t get any big ideas
they’re not gonna happen

you paint your house white and fill it with noise
but there’ll be something missing

and just when you’ve found it, it’s gone
just when you feel it, you don’t
you’ve gone off the rails

she kisses you with tongues and pulls you to the bed
don’t go, you’ll only want to come back again

so don’t get any big ideas
they’re not gonna happen

you’ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking

and now that you’ve found it, it’s gone
now that you feel it, you don’t
you’ve gone off the rails[/quote]
[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 17 avril 1998 [/button]

Le soundcheck du 17 avril 1998 est enregistré et sera intégré à Meeting People Is Easy en 1998 :

Thom donne un nouveau titre assez marrant :

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / Meeting People Is Easy, 1998″]I love the title. But when you get mortgage in Britain, they always have this thing at the bottom saying: ‘Your home is at risk if you don not keep up with payments’. I wanted to use that as the title. But I‚m not sure if it‚s catchy enough.
[/quote]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 10 décembre 1998 [/button]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] février 2000 [/button]

Le nom ” Big Ideas (Don’t Get Any) fut déposé par EMI/Warner Chappell Publishing en février 2000

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 1999/2000 [/button]

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / Radiohead Message Board, 12 décembre 1999″]drum machine land[/quote]

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / Radiohead Message Board, 22 mars 2000″]its not gone. i havent forgotten it. its just we have not done it recently and the one we did in meeting people just didnt end up anywhere so.. [/quote]

[quote cite=”Jonny Greenwood / Radiohead Message Board, 6 mars 2001″]unless we do it tomorrow.
we wont, tho.
[/quote]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 7 août 2002 [/button]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] avril 2004 [/button]

[quote cite=”Thom / Rolling Stone, avril 2004″]“Big Ideas” has become the great lost Radiohead classic, hasn’t it ? You’ve played it live a number of times, as long as four years ago, but it has yet to surface on record. Why is that ?

Thom : Well, there are a number of bands we could give it to- for them to play it. I mean. Like, I would literally get down on my hands and knees and beg Elvis Costello & the Attractions to do it. Because I know they’d play it much better than us. But I don’t have the guts to ask them.
[/quote]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] février 2005 [/button]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 30 septembre 2005 [/button]

[quote cite=”Ed O’Brien / BBC1, 21 décembre 2005″]Zane: “A lot of people want to know about one song in particular and – I hate to focus on this, and tie you in, but none of this stands at the end of the day, obviously, but Vince does want to know like anybody else about ‘Big ideas’, one of the older tracks.”

Ed: “Yeah.”

Zane: “Is it still in the picture?”

Ed: “Yeah, it is! We’ve got a board of about 25, 30 songs and it’s very, very, very much in there. We’ve done… That, actually, is the one song that we’ve done, we’ve recorded. It’s called, it’s kind of… it’s called ‘Nude’ now.”

Zane: “Ok.”

Ed: “It’s got a direction that we’d like to follow, but we’d like to say it’s got really big bass, and very sparse, very, very sparse… Thom’s done an amazing, amazing vocal on it, and it’s kind of the area that we want to go in. We just… we need a bit more confidence. I mean, kind of… to be honest with you, we’re not very self-confident at the moment. We’re kind of… we’ve had our arses kicked in the studio… going back, when you think something’s really good in the studio, you go back and it’s not, you kind of… you start doubting what you think is good. That’s when it gets to be mind games…”

Zane: “Business as usual then… (laughs)”

Ed: “Yeah, nothing changes! (laughs) That’s true, Zane, that’s true, man.”
[/quote]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 8 mars 2006 [/button]

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / Mojo, juillet 2006″]We’ve developed this cool version of ‘Nude’, which is another song that’s been around for ages. ‘Don’t Get Any Big Ideas’ it used to be called. There is an actual recording of that – but whether it’s finished or not is something we’re going to have to argue amongst ourselves about (laughs). It’s fucking tortuous being us – nobody else on the planet would operate like this. [/quote]

[quote cite =”Chicago Public Radio ‘Sound Opinions / 18 juin 2006″]

Jim: “All right! Well that’s fair… Well there’s one song out there that you guys are playing live now that i think has been around for years and years, right?

Thom: “Mhmm

Jim: “Never quite got on a record, and people are wondering when it’s gonna be out there, I’m losing the title now, but

Jonny: “Nude

Jim: “Is it getting anywhere? You think it’s getting to the point where it’s gonna make the cut for this next record?

Thom: “I think it’s got there, isn’t it?

Jonny: “Yah.

Thom: ” I mean, we’ll probably end up arguing about the little tiny nooks and crannies of it in the end, but um, basically, yeah. We have that. It’s in the bag.

Greg: “Oh! Look at this, so we’re making progress! We got songs ready…[/quote]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 23 mars 2007 [/button]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] octobre 2007 [/button]

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / BBC 6 Music ‘Steve Lamacq’, 19/11/2007″]I think it was because I hated…I used to hate the way I sung it.
[/quote]

[quote cite=”Colin Greenwood The Sun, 28 décembre 2007″ avatar=”http://www.radiohead.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/colin05-150×150.jpg”]“Thom felt it was right now, as he is in a place in his life where the words make sense to him.
“When we wrote it in the early Nineties, it didn’t feel right to him. Thom would say this album was also right for it because I finally came up with a bassline. It’s a soul thing.
“It was like a picture that wasn’t right for years and now it works for him.
“And in the context of the record it’s kind of about love so it works in that setting,”
[/quote]

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / BBC Radio 4 ‘Front Row’, 14/12/2007″]We’re talking to this guy, um we’re talking to a guy… Diplo? Um, Yeah, he’s worked with MIA stuff and and, he’s currently… poor chap, he’s currently trying to do a remix of it… and I sent him an e-mail saying, “?” and the main thing is you got… is to keep it in sync same? And he’s like Yeah, I’m down with that, man… laughs… and keep it okey dokey… I can’t wait to hear it… Anyway… this is the original…[/quote]

[quote cite=”Thom Yorke / NPR ‘All Songs Considered’, 14/02/2008″]

John: “So that’s a song that could have been on OK Computer then?

Thom: “It could, but we never really…..it didn’t ever really fit together until Colin came up with the bassline that starts the tune up. For some reason, that makes it easier to sing (plays Nude)

cf l’annonce

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 31 décembre 2007 [/button]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] 1er avril 2008 [/button]

[button icon=’iconic-cd’ fullwidth=’true’] juillet 2008 [/button]
