première version live : 1^er mai 2006 (live@koko)

 
On a découvert la chanson quand Radiohead l’a jouée lors de ses répétitions pour la tournée 2006 (ils en parlaient notamment sur leur blog), puis jouée le 1^er mai 2006 lors du concert au koKo.

Finalement, c’est en octobre 2007 qu’on a appris que la chanson figurerait sur le nouvel album du groupe in rainbows.

Thom en parle un peu dans le magazine anglais Mojo de Août 2006 :
« It’s a little bit like Neu ! meets dodgy hippy rock. It sounds like that new Australian band Wolfmother - I really like them actually. They’re totally unashamed about what they’re doing. They just don’t give a fuck - and I really love that. »

En fin 2005, quelques indices nous étaient donnés sur la chanson au détour d’une illustration du calendrier Radiohead à sortir...

2005 toujours.

Sat, 22 October the dogs have gone to bed friday night ....... the end of a two week session .......riffs and fragments of the songs going round my head ...... its been great .... its always difficult to judge right now but i think we may have got ’bodysnatchers’ ...... had a couple of sticky days at the beginning of the week but saw it through .... on a roll now ..... lots of stuff to be done yet, but so far so good.... the studio is fab, its so good to play in and listen.... you know what works and what doesn’t ..... the only problem is you will never hear what you do sound so good as the sound system is outrageous .... ths studio also sits on the edge of some beautiful woodland .... had a great ray mears moment in the wood today on a solitary walk when i came across some deer and hid behind a tree to watch them for a few minutes ...... time to head off i’m really tired.... goodnight. Ed

Il est sur que le nom de la chanson figurait sur le premier tableau de répétition posté par le groupe sur son blog le 30cseptembre 2005

le 1^er mars 2006, Jonny postait sur le forum du site officiel ce message :

Quelques photos postées sur le dead air space le 27 février 2006 indiquent qu’elles ont probablement été prises lors de la session d’enregistrement de la chanson

  Fin septembre 2007, au moment où le groupe a décidé de plaisanter avec son public, des messages codés sont apparus sur le dead air space, dont un (le 20 soyons précis !) qui laissait apparaître, une fois décodé, la phrase « blink your eyes », une des paroles de la chanson.
